Jane Howell recently assisted us with the interior design of our renovated house in Caulfield North. We already knew how good Jane was, having engaged her on a previous project. We were once again delighted with Jane’s level of service. From start to finish, Jane worked tirelessly with us, and also our architect and builder, choosing surface materials, finishes, furniture, and decorative items and ensuring that they met the overall design elements for our renovation. Jane is highly professional, very communicative, and very much took into account our own design input and desire to have a simple, modern and functional design within a house that is over one hundred years old. A great friend of mine recommended Jane to my husband and I. At the time we were living in Switzerland. We had purchased our new home in Brighton and planned to move back to Australia at the end of the year. With the added complication of living remotely whilst trying to fully furnish a home I’d hardly seen along with packing and relocating I knew I would need the services of a competent professional. From the first time I spoke with Jane I realised she completely understood what I was looking for. Jane managed the whole process, starting with a visit to our new home and working from plans. She had a lot of our furniture custom made through her local manufacturers. She organised everything from sofas, dining tables, beds, outdoor furniture, commissioned artwork, soft furnishings, linen and decorative pieces. She did all of this with only one face to face meeting when I flew back from Switzerland half way through the year. My husband and I were so impressed that we asked Jane to fully furnish our newly built holiday home on the Mornington Peninsula whilst still living in Switzerland. Again she did an amazing job and everyone who visits either of our homes just loves them. Jane makes sure every room is practical, warm and inviting. Jane is very easy to deal with, a great communicator and is passionate about what she does. I definitely couldn’t have done it without her. 

Jane has been wonderful to work with. We reside in California but recently purchased a property on the beachfront of Long Island for our own use and to rent out to short term exclusive vacationers. It was a challenging project for many reasons (discerning owners on a budget would be the most challenging) but we are very pleased with the result. Jane sourced many items for us, including a custom made modular lounge and a large dining table. She also coordinated well with a local store manager to provide certain items of furniture, as well as white goods, televisions and linen. This was a huge job to set up a large four bedroomed home which would work as a family home in addition to a high end vacation rental. We relied heavily on Jane’s expertise to see us through all the ups and downs of working long distance.

Jane Howell was recommended to me by my brother and sister in law after she furnished and styled their large holiday home on the Mornington Peninsula. I have a two bedroom apartment in Toorak, and would unreservedly recommend Jane and her builder husband Chris for her interior and exterior home decorating needs. For convenience, the

majority of the work was done during a fortnight I was away travelling, with resultant minimal disruption. Jane is helpful, flexible and easy to work with, as is her husband Chris. Jane Howell is an exceptional interior designer. With more than 20 years experience in her field she not only offers clients the complete interior package but spends quality time with each to understand their personalised requirements. Jane has worked with Holiday Shacks for the past 3 years providing creative interior insights by assisting our luxury holiday home owners with styling, renovations, colour consulting, furniture and amenity purchases for our luxury market. She very quickly worked out our style and without minimal stress was able to provide options for all aspects of the renovation. We would like to thank Jane for the amazing results she achieved in helping us refurbish our holiday rental property in Mornington. Within a

very tight deadline to complete the job Jane came up with a theme including interior colours, floors, furniture, linen, light fittings and artwork that totally transformed the look and feel of the property to suit its seaside location. Jane also managed to source the furniture at very competitive rates and have it delivered at short notice to complete the project on time. Jane has been very professional and great to work with and we would definitely recommend her as an interior designer.

We had Jane design our cabinetry, interior design as well as landscaping for our brand new home. The result she achieved is amazing and has the “wow” factor we were after as well as still living in a resort style home without being too contemporary and cold, which can be hard to achieve in a modern home. We worked really well together going shopping, choosing amazing pieces of furniture and getting a great colour scheme through our our brand new home. She made me think outside my square and also listened to what we wanted to achieve in our home. She is very professional with a fantastic attention to detail. We had chosen to work with them because throughout the local community they are known to be not just a team capable of delivering a high quality product, which they did, but also very trustworthy and transparent in the way they go about their business. We had several meetings through out the process and found them to be very clear in terms of what they set out to achieve and also what they delivered at completion. We were kept up to speed throughout the process. In terms of costs/completions dates they were able to provide us with a finished product consistent with what they suggested at the initiation of the process.
